Energy Saving Tips
Go Compact Fluorescent Lights, replace your incandescent light bulbs with CFLs.
Unplug cell phone/battery chargers when not in use. Small electronic chargers still draw a charge if they are plugged into the wall.
Turn off lights when you are not in the room. Turn off outside lights when you go to bed, don’t leave them burning all night. Install motion detectors.
Turnoff computers when you are done for the day. Make sure you turn the monitor and printer off too!
Run the dishwasher only when full. Use the energy saver cycle. Run on off hours.
Upgrade to Energy Star when you are in the market for new appliances.
Wash clothes in warm or cold water not hot water.
Keep thermostat set cooler at night to heat rooms only when necessary.
Think about switching your heating oil to a mix with a bio fuel or upgrading your furnace to a high efficiency unit.
