Technical Assistance Grant:
Along with 100 other communities in Massachusetts, Westwood qualified to receive free technical assistance through the Green Communities Program under the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs. The Green Communities Program was established when Governor Patrick signed the Green Communities Act in 2008, and offers up to $10 million in grants each year statewide (to communities that meet 5 criteria). Among the other municipalities to receive this technical assistance were the towns of Natick, Brookline, Milton, Dedham, Medway, Sudbury, Lincoln, Lexington and Arlington. The WEAC board will be working closely with Town officials and the Green Communities consultant to meet the 5 program criteria within the next year.
